Domaine de Fontenille, an upscale hotel and wine estate in the outskirts of Aix-en-Provence, provides both a luxurious and cozy feeling to visitors. The rooms are quaint and comfortable, some offering phenomenal views of the expansive courtyard and gardens. The onsite star-rated restaurant, bistro and breakfast offering is delectable, and pairing with the Fontenille wine is perfection. Sporting a pool, bocce ball court, bikes and a winery, there is plenty to stay entertained. But if one is looking to venture out, the town of Lourmarin is nearby (voted one of the most beautiful villages in France). While there are many chateaus in France, this dreamlike manor was the inspiration for our entire trip to France.
